When did you start playing football? How did your interest start?
I started playing tackle football when I was 6 years old. My dad got me interested in playing football. He played football at Kansas State and a few years later, in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills. We would always watch football in the basement on Sundays and I would mock like I was either catching a ball or tackling the pillows. Playing catch every day with Dad was a lot of fun too!
What motivates you to play the game every day?
I get motivated when I see people who have graduated from my school before me living out their football dreams. When I was in middle school, my dad would let me sit on the sidelines when he was coaching on Friday nights and I would see guys like Jeremiah McClellan make big plays on offense and defense.
What part of football do you enjoy the most?
The part I love most about football is competing. I love to compete. Going out playing the sport I love and making plays is super fun.
What about football do you find to be challenging?
The most challenging thing about football for me now is just learning the plays. I play both offense and defense, so my dad and I study a lot of film to get ahead so we are prepared for the next opponent.
What are you looking for the most in a college program?
What I’m looking for most in a college program is to have a great coach. It’s important to have a positive relationship and develop chemistry with the coaching staff. I know I have the ability to play both sides of the ball and having a coach that sees what I bring to the team would be great.
