Warren Central (Ind.) High School defensive back Kaleb Elkins announced his top six schools last week; he will choose between Indiana, Ohio State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Oregon. He caught up with Midwest Preps about what appeals to him for each of the six teams.
On Indiana:
IU is the reigning national champ and the home team. It’d be great to only drive an hour to see my family. They’re the hottest team in the country.
On Ohio State:
Ohio State has so much history and is a NFL pipeline. Everybody is watching when you play for a program like OSU. Elite talent, elite development.
On Vanderbilt:
Vandy has been one of my top schools since the beginning. Coach Lea is a program changer. I love the energy he’s brought to the team.
On Tennessee:
Tennessee is electric! You can feel it as soon as you step on campus. Definitely a place I can see myself playing.
On Missouri:
Mizzou is headed in the right direction. I like what they do defensively. To be top 3 in the SEC in pass defense the last 2 years says a lot. Looking forward to getting on campus this weekend.
On Oregon:
Oregon is consistent. Everyone knows Oregon will be around come post season. Coach Hampton is my guy. He’s somebody I’d really like to play for.
