Top 2028 LB Jameer Miles Impressed by ‘Powerhouse’ Alabama After Offer

Carmel Catholic (Ill.) linebacker Jameer Miles is one of the top linebackers in the country. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound outside linebacker shined at the Prep Redzone Stock-Up Showcase in Chicago last December. We caught up with him at the time as well as this week about some of his top offers.

Here’s the latest.

Nebraska, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio State are among his first 10 offers. He has since added offers from Tennessee, Oregon, Texas A&M, and more recently Alabama.

“I like the program,” he said of Ohio State. “They produce a lot of good linebackers. Talked to (linebackers coach) James Laurinitis. He’s really good coach. I like him overall.”

The Hawkeyes are a school that interests him as well.

“Iowa, it’s pretty equal, in my opinion,” he said. “It’s a good school, produced a lot of great linebackers, longevity that they had, and, pretty good coaching.”

His first offer was from the defending national champions, Indiana, which suffice to say will make a big push for his services over the next couple of years. At the Prep Redzone camp, Miles shined in one-on-ones as well as individual drills, displaying excellent speed, quick read-and-reaction time, and top-shelf lateral movement skills that make him a blue-chip prospect.

“Indiana was a great school,” he said. “My first offer. It was a great experience there, really getting the flow of everything.”

The Cornhuskers could emerge as an early leader as his teammate, Carmel Catholic quarterback Trae Taylor, is committed to Nebraska.

“Nebraska, you know, it’s my quarterback Trae going there,” he said. “It’s a lot going on. Good program. I feel like I really like the coaches there.”

And then there’s the Crimson Tide, who jumped into the mix on March 3.

“Alabama is a real powerhouse school,” he said, adding that he’s building a relationship with linebackers coach Chuck Morrell. “I’ve been watching them since I was a kid, so it’s kind of crazy receiving an offer from them.”
