When did you start playing football? How did your interest start?
My first experience playing football was in kindergarten. I have played every year for the past 12 years. I was interested in football because of the family values it nurtured. Football gave me a community I could always fall into.
What motivates you to play the game every day?
Every day, I am motivated to play because of the trust I have earned on my team. I know my teammates rely upon me to come show up and show out in school as well as on the field. I have created a community that holds me accountable when I hold them accountable.
What part of football do you enjoy the most?
My favorite aspect of football is the community-wide support that we hold. At Williamsville High School I am supported by both the Village of Williamsville and the Village of Sherman. I know the community will be there next season regardless of a season’s record.
What about football do you find to be challenging?
The aspect of football that I find the most challenging is comparing myself to others and being overly-critical. Often I am too critical and it challenges my growth along with my tendency to compare myself to others in different circumstances.
What are you looking for the most in a college program?
The most important aspect of a college that I am looking for is a strong family and community within the team and surrounding area. I am looking for a team where I can grow into the role they need me at.
