When did you start playing football? How did your interest start?
I started flag football in 3rd grade and tackle in 5th grade. Football is in my genes. My uncle, grandpa, and great grandpa all played D1 football. Sports and competing have always played a huge part in my family. My cousins and sister are all athletes and everything we do is a competition.
What motivates you to play the game every day?
I want to work to my full potential in everything I do. Having goals is what motivates me. My goal is to compete at the next level as well as get my degree while playing the game I love.
What part of football do you enjoy the most?
The greatest part of football is being a part of the team. Plus, I really enjoy hitting people. The team culture at Oconomowoc is definitely special.
How have you been planning over the off-season to make your team better and win state?
Our team is putting in the off-season work. We have big goals for next year. On any given day, we have 30-50 guys in the weight room after school. Anyone that is not in a winter sport is in the weight room getting stronger every day. We also do plyos and jump rope. The linemen then spend some time going over sets and improving techniques. The upper classmen are putting in the time to work with the underclassmen to get everyone prepared for the season.
What are you looking for the most in a college program? Who are some of the teams you’re interested in?
I want to find a great balance between football and academics. Finding the perfect fit is important because I want to be at one school for four years and get my degree. I am looking for a school that is working to always grow and improve their football program. My goal is a degree in business finance, so a school that will set me up for long-term success is a priority.
